＂The Light of the Illuminator＂ ： Zhou Fucheng＇ s View on Shakespeare Studies

周辅成先生的莎评主要集中在他的《论莎士比亚的人格》，他从人格、人性、自然三个方面对莎翁及莎作的探讨为中国莎评打开新窗，克服了莎学专业学者只顾及“知识创造”的研究偏颇，在“社会关怀”和“人文关怀”方面为中国莎学带来亮色，他的莎士比亚研究对于当下学界知识分子专业化倾向颇有启示。

Zhou Fucheng made Shakespeare Criticism mainly in his article on the Character of Shakespeare. He offers new insight into Chinese Shakespeare Criticism through the discussion on Shakespeare and his works in terms of personality, hu- manity and nature. Specialized in Shakespea＇re studies, many scholars focus on＂ Knowledge Creation＂ and fail to tkae a broad view of the field. On the contrary, Zhou fucheng＇ s studies are more related to ＂Social Concern＂ and ＂Humanistic Concern＂, thus his research could be found with great inspiration for experts who dedicated themselves to Shakespeare Studies.
