短果枝类型的棉花品种(系)具有适合轻简化栽培、易机收等特点,近年来越来越受到育种工作者的重视。通过对目前我国短果枝棉花应用情况的了解,概述了短果枝棉花的分类及育种发展,指出了短果枝棉花利用的优势,分析了短果枝棉花品种(系)在长江流域应用存在的问题与建议。
