A New Theory on the Berkley Free Speech Movement in 1964

In the autumn and winter of the 1964, a free speech movement swept across the campus of Univer- sity California - Berkeley, in which students as the major part won the final victory. The campaign featured its various causes and backgrounds, and in terms of its nature, it, as a radical in-system movement for reform, showed the trend of surpassing system. The movement not only represented a boost for the later political-cultur- al system-subverting revolution, from previous new-left students＇ movement with moderate in-system reform, but also embodied a left-wing political milepost after WWII.
