Initial Endowment,Social Capital,and High School Students' Achievement

摘要 本研究利用一项在南方某城市实施的高三学生调查,研究了初始禀赋中的经济资本、社会资本、文化资本作用于高中生学业成绩的路径与机制,讨论了高中生的社会资本影响学业成绩的方式,并揭示了学校环境的重要意义。在深化教育领域综合改革过程中,政府应出台相应的干预政策以确保教育公平,并通过建设激励性和支持性的学校风气及异质性的学生群体来有效推进教育均衡发展和教育公平。 Based on a survey of high school graduates conducted in a city in Southern China, this paper reveals the way different aspects of initial endowment (i. e. , economic, social and cultural capital) together with on-campus social capital affect high school graduates' academic achievement, and the val- ue of school climate. The study has implications for deepening the reform of education: the government should ensure education equality by introducing intervention policies and promote education equality by building an inspiring and supporting school climate and a diversified student body.
