节用是中国传统思想的一项主要内容,中国古代大部分思想家都主张节用。从中国古代烹饪器具的形制、材质和生产工艺都可以看出这一思想在其中的体现。在当今中国国情的条件下,节用思想对于烹饪器具的设计与选择仍有其指导意义。

The idea of frugality, which was advocated by many ancient Chinese thinkers, is a major part of Chinese traditional ideas. It is embodied from the shapes, materials and production processes of ancient Chi- nese cooking utensils. In today~ China, the idea of frugality still has guiding significance for the design and selection of cooking utensils.
