八吉祥在藏族佛教文化中具有特殊意义,它不仅是作为艺术图形具有的审美意义,更重要的是这些图像符号的象征意义是为了启开人们内心本具的自性智慧。作为图像象征意义的引导,也就具有了佛学思想精髓——世俗谛和胜义谛,这两种思想时刻深入到人们生活中的方方面面,既要从现实生活中认知事物的普遍意义,又要在此基础上认识一切现象本具的自性智慧。在文化群体共同的认知下,八吉祥图像所具有的象征意义,是把人们内心至善至美的意愿趋于圆满的境地,至此,也就无须再用图像象征语言了。

The Eight auspicious in Tibetan Buddhist culture has special significance. Not only does it have aesthetic significance as a graphic art, more importantly, its symbolic images also help to develop the inner self-wisdom that we all embody.As a symbolic image guidance,it also reflects the essence of Buddhism thoughts,i.e, the secular truths and transcendent truths, the two thoughts that prevail in every aspect of our lives, namely, to recognize the universal significance in real life, and to realize the inner self-wisdom of all phenomena. Under the common cognition of the cultural group, the symbolic significance of the eight auspicious is to lead our inner hearts to the ultimate perfection.Until then, we no long need to apply the language of the symbolic images.
