切斯特曼翻译伦理模式的贡献与局限性

On Contributions and Limitations of Chesterman's Translation Ethics Model

切斯特曼所提出的四种翻译伦理模式对建构中国翻译伦理学产生了巨大的影响,对翻译实践有着一定的指导意义。但同时它也存在着一定的局限性:各模式关注的伦理层面和所运用的伦理学研究方法不同、各模式本身存在着不足。此外,译者还缺乏如何取舍这四种伦理模式的标准。只有正确认识和理解切斯特曼的翻译伦理模式才能够更好地服务于翻译伦理的研究。

The four types of translation ethics model proposed by Chesterman have a great impact on constructing Chinese translation ethics and have a certain guiding significance to translation practice. However,at the same time there exist some limitations about it. Every model focuses on different ethical dimension,uses different ethical research method and has its own shortcomings. In addition,translator has no idea of the standard concerning how to choose the four translation ethics models. Only if we have a correct recognition and understanding of Chesterman＇s translation ethics model can we better serve the study of translation ethics.
