国民教育的失落源于对"国民性"认识的模糊与不确定、文化多元与冲突所引发的文化认同危机、社会关系变迁过程中工具性教育的凸显。当前,国民教育的重建需要在教育理论与实践中对国民性的改造与完善有一套明确的标准和价值取向;加强人文教育,重视教育对个体文化自觉能力的培养;注重教育与教育研究的本土化。
