莫言“背后的外国女人”陈安娜——兼论中国文学作品的对外译介

The Translation of Chinese Literature and Anna Gustafsson Chen——The“Back-Stage Hero”Behind Mo Yan

瑞典翻译家陈安娜是2012年诺贝尔文学奖得主莫言作品的主要译者,被称为莫言获奖"背后的外国女人"。陈安娜的译文有如下特点:1题材选择上既有鲜明的中国特点,同时又迎合了西方读者的阅读期望或偏见;2翻译策略和方法上照顾译文读者的需求,对原文做出适当的调整和改动;3译者对身份的认同影响,甚至决定了翻译质量。中国文学作品的外译,除了由高水平的外国译者担纲之外,中西合译、中译西审、灵活翻译等都不失为较好的方法。

As the main translator of Mo Yan,who won the 2012 Nobel Prize for literature, Swedish translator Anna Gustafsson Chen, is remembered as the ＂back-stage hero＂, whose translation has the following features： 1. The subject selected can reflect distinct Chinese flavor and meet the reading ex- pectancy or prejudice of the Western readers. 2. In translation strategy and method, due adjustments are adopted for the readers＇ sake. 3 The translator＇s recognition of her identity influences, or even deter- mines the quality of translation. Apart from the translation chiefly undertaken by qualified foreign translators, joint translation, Chinese translators with foreign editors and flexible translation are also possible ways for the translation of Chinese literary works.
