China, the world’s second largest economy, has grown into a major player in outward investment. In 2015, the amount of China’s outward investment is expected to exceed that of its foreign investment in actual use.
In recent years, a new trend in EU- China relations has been the strong growth momentum of Chinese enterpris- es＇ investment in the EU. According to the Statistical Communiqu~ of 2o12 on China Direct Investment Overseas joint- ly released by the Ministry of Commerce and the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2005 China＇s OFDI stock in the EU totaled US $768 million, accounting for just 1.3 percent of its OFDI as a whole.
