Beam shaping is an effective way to improve the beam quality of the laser diode arrays and has attracted more and more interest in recent years. The typical methods of beam shaping of laser diode arrays are briefly introduced. The new development of beam shaping of laser diode is presented. The characteristic of those techniques are analyzed and a review on development for this technique is made.
