Two Basic Theoretical Problems of Consciousness

本文论述了关于意识的两个基本理论问题。其一是关于意识能动性的客观来源问题。王阳明虽不否认客观事物的存在,却不敢承认其中包含着客观之理,就是由于其不明白客观之理与为我们所认识的理的差异,而以主观之理的存在形式来要求客观之理的结果。其二是自我意识与客体意识的关系以及自我意识的本质与作用的问题。自我意识与客体意识同为人的意识的两个不可缺少的领域,二者的统一性是其根本性质。统一性的根本表现是二者之间的协调一致,而这种协调一致开启了二者之间的相互补充和转化。人的一切意识活动都是由二者的协同活动组成的。

The article discusses two basic theoretical problems of consciousness. One is the objective sources of conscious initiative. The other problem discussed here is the relationship between self-consciousness and objective consciousness as well as the essence and function of self- consciousness. It thinks that, self-consciousness and objective consciousness are two indispensable fields of human consciousness, and also, they are one aspect of the unified consciousness. Their unification is the fundamental nature of consciousness. The basic performance of this unification is coherence between the two, which opens their mutual supplement and transformation between them. All human conscious activities are composed of these coordinated activities.
