民族自治区域发展与国家的政治经济发展都有密切关联,大力推进民族自治区经济发展是我国一直以来的民族发展思想。在民族民众的努力和市场经济体制的深化改革下,大部分民族地区的经济都得到了长足发展,但是从整体发展趋势来看,与中东部多数地区相比,民族自治区域的经济发展普遍存在差距。整体而言,客观要素欠缺、思想观念滞后、机制失调等三方面的问题是造成民族自治区域经济发展差距的根源所在,以湘西为例对以上根源要素进行一一解析。
