Micro-expression is a kind of expressions and different from common expressions. Micro-expressions' duration is very short and usually considered to be 1/25 of a second to 1/5 of a second. The ability to detect micro-expression is an important skill for understanding a person's true emotional state. The researcher called Ekman made a micro-expression training tool(METT)in order to improve the recognition capability of micro expressions. This experiment selected 63 Chinese college students as subjects, and used METT to train the skills to detect their micro-expression. The experimental results showed that the trained grades improved significantly and the grades of post test increased 14% than the pretest. The grades had no significant difference between untrained male and female students. The trained grades of female students improved significantly more than male students. It concluded that the METT was effective for Chinese subjects and female students could have higher improvement on the ability of micro- expression recognition than male students.
