摘要
采用美国著名跨文化交际学者Starosta和Chen Guoming教授设计的跨文化敏感度测试量表以及自行设计的跨文化交际能力测试问卷分别对西北农林科技大学外语学习者(包括教师、学生、管理人员)进行调查测试,结果表明:(1)该校外语学习者没有充分掌握英语国家的相关文化背景知识,而且他们的跨文化交际能力有所欠缺;(2)跨文化敏感度和跨文化交际能力之间的相关关系较为密切;(3)在跨文化敏感度五个因素中,外语学习者的交际参与度呈现出最强,而交际愉悦感最弱。外语学习者的交际参与度和交际信心比交际关注度、交际愉悦感和差异认同感高,而交际参与度比其他四项都高。
By using Intercultural Sensitivity Scale designed by famous professor Starosta and professor Chen Guoming and the questionnaire designed by the author about the English cultural knowledge and cross-cultural communication competence,this paper respectively conducts a statistical and descriptive analysis about foreign language learners’ cross-cultural communication competences. The research results show that foreign language learners still have no good knowledge of the relevant cultural knowledge of English-speaking countries and their cross-cultural competences still need to be greatly improved. Meanwhile,the research results also indicate that there is a close positive correlation between cross-cultural competence and intercultural sensitivity. And among the five constructs of the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale,students get the highest mark at Interaction Engagement,the second at Respect for Cultural Differences,the third at Interaction Confidence,the forth at Interaction Attentiveness,while the lowest mark at Interaction Enjoyment. Foreign language learners’ Interaction Engagement and Interaction Confidence are higher than Interaction Attentiveness,Interaction Enjoyment and Respect for Cultural Differences,while Interaction Engagement is higher than the other four constructs.
