Some Problems on The Study of Phonology of Chinese Ancient Dialects

音韵学有着悠久的历史方音研究传统.随着现代方言学研究深入发展,历史方言的研究愈益受到重视.现代的历史方音研究要重视历史文献,忽视历史文献直接从现代方音的内部差异进行历史比较,未必就能推求出原始方言.原始方言假说难以解释汉语方言在历史上分化与回归的矛盾运动,不符合方言分化中的量变与渐变特性.应当代之以早期方言的提法.在历史方言研究中,要提倡运用文献考据与历史比较的二重证据法来研究早期方言.

There is a long tradition on the Study of phonology of Chinese ancient dialects. Along with deep development of modem dialectics, scholars pay more attention to the Study on phonology of Chinese ancient dialects.. The importance of historical docu- ments in Modem study phonology of Chinese ancient dialects should be highly empha- sized because the primitive dialects should not surely be secured ,when historical com- parison is only within the range of modem dialects by neglect of historical documents. Primitive Dialects Presupposition is difficult to explain the contradictory movement be- tween differentiation and regression of Chinese dialects in history because it is not in con- formity with the property of quantitative and gradual changes of dialect dissociation and so it should be replace by Early Dialects. In the Study the study of phonology of Chinese ancient dialects, the method of the two -fold evidences which includes textual criticism and historical comparison should be recommended.
