The research of the explanation to the words in the Ancient law works is promotion and complementary for the research of the Lexical Se- mantics. In The Explanation of the Law in Tang Dynasty（唐律疏议）, the re- search of the system of Legal Lexical Semantics and the characteristic of the explanation afford a new perspective and materials for the research of the Classical Chinese Semantics,the legal lexical history,the construction of theo- ry of the Terminology,the solution of the kernel question of the Modem Lexi- cal Semantics. We need pay attention to the study of the Ancient Explanation of the Law.
