On the Passive ＂bei＂ （被）Construction in the Tang and Five -Dynasty Period

唐五代时期的被动式主要有＂为＂字句、被字句、＂教＂字句和＂喫（吃）＂字句。其中被字句是这个时期的主要被动句形式,＂教＂字句和＂喫（吃）＂字句刚刚萌芽,而＂为＂字句已呈衰微之势。

During the Tang and Five - Dynasty period, the passive constructions in Chinese mainly consisted of ＂wei＂ （ 为 ） construction, ＂bei＂ construction, ＂jiao＂ （ 教 ） construction and ＂chi＂ （ 喫/吃 ） construction. Among the above passive constructions, ＂bei＂ construction served as the primary passive pattern; at the same time, ＂jiao＂ construction and ＂chi＂ construction were just coming into being, while ＂wei＂ construction were falling from its former advantageous position.
