利用古人名与字之间的联系来考求词义是一种很有价值的求证手段,自汉代以来就被学者们所采用。名字所用的意义是当时及先前存在的意义,可以弥补文献例证的不足。事实表明,名字证据有相当的可信度。不过,名字求义法并不是一种自足的训诂方法,这是因为名字呼应这种＂语境＂过于简单,致使名字之间的交会点存在多种可能性。所以名字求义法一般应跟其他的训诂方法配合使用,这样才能避免结论的或然性,增强可靠性。

It＇s a very valuable proving method to use the link between the ancients＇ original name and courteous name. The meaning of ancients＇ name, as the meaning existed at that time or formerly, can make up for lack of document examples. The paper analyses the pros and cons of the proving method, and corrects some errors of previous textual exegesis.
