凡是去过藏区的人都知道：在藏区各地的山间、路口、湖边、江畔,都可以看到刻有佛教真言、慧眼、神像造像以及各种吉祥图案的玛尼石。＂玛尼＂为梵文佛经《六字真言经》中＂唵嘛呢叭咪哞＂的简称,因在石头上刻有＂玛尼＂而被称为＂玛尼石＂。
Walking in Tibetan areas, you may find marnyi stones almost everywhere around the mountain, road, lakeside, etc. The so-called marnyi stones are stones carved with Buddhist mantra, eyes, statues or all kinds of auspicious patterns, whilst marnyi refers to 'Om Mani Padme Moo'in the Sanskrit scriptures. A marnyi cairn or a marnyi wall is comprised of a lot of marnyi stones, which constitutes a beautiful landscape in Tibetan areas. This July, a group of photographers visited the greatest marnyi cairn in Qinghai to explore its mystery and majestic appearance.
