侦探小说作为小说类型的一个特殊分支,其独特魅力赢得了许多读者的倾心,在侦探小说发展史上,涌现了许多优秀侦探小说家和众多的流派,塑造了享誉世界的侦探形象。其独特风格、规则和创作目的奠定了侦探小说在当代文学的一定地位。但从一般意义上讲,侦探小说还不能归入主流文学之中,它是一种以小说的形式展示的复杂、多变的猜谜活动,因为它本身存在许多缺陷,也不具备主流文学的某些特征。

Detective novel, as a specialized offshoot of novel categories, its special charm wins the approval of a quantity of readers. In the detective novel history, there are enormous works, better-known detective novelists, as well as impressive detective figures. Moreover, its unique style, rules and creation purpose lay a status for detective novel in literature. Although detective novel holds a unique place in modern letters, it does not fall under the head of fiction in the ordinary sense. It just belongs to a complicated and extended puzzle case in fictional form, because it has many detects in itself and lacks the features possessed in mainstream literature.
