The South China Sea oil and gas resource issue is one of the key factors triggering disputes in the South China Sea. If one acknowledges that the sovereignty and demarcation of islands, shoals and atolls in the Nansha Islands and elsewhere represent the heart of the current disputes in the South China Sea, then one can clearly recognize that the South China Sea oil and gas resource issue is the strategic center of the conflict for relevant parties.
