Mother tongue should play a r ole in English teaching, and its positive role has been recognized by an increasingly num-ber of people. How to reasonably and effectively use the positive role of mother tongue has become a topic that has attracted many teachers＇ attention. This paper illustrates and analyzes the results of related theoretical and practical research, and on this basis, explores the role of mother tongue in English teaching.
