A waterborne air drying sealing coatings system for the rusted steel structure painting was introduced The preparation and construction technology of the waterborne air drying sealing primer and matching waterborne top coat were expounded. The influences of dispersant, antirust pigment, pigment/binder ratio, and the selection of the film forming agent and neutralizing agent on the performance of coatings system were also discussed. Compared with the solvent based alkyd coatings system, the waterborne coatings system had a better performance and met the needs of enterprise safety production.
