The Narrative Feature of the Scene of Buddhist Temples in the Novels in Tang Dynasty

受佛教世俗化的影响,唐代佛教寺院与民众的关系十分密切,这种关系表现在唐代小说中尤为明确。在唐代寺院故事中,佛教寺院承载了重要的叙事功能,或作为真实地理参照,在小说中营造出似真还幻的情境;或烘托审美氛围;或作为重要的契机,推动小说情节的发展;或是空间场景主题化的直接体现。

To be affected by the secularization of Buddhism, the people had close contacts with Bud- dhist temples in Tang dynasty which is showed clearly in the novels in Tang dynasty. In the novels of Buddhist temples in Tang dynasty, Buddhist temples have important functions. They were references of the real world, creating a situation which was mixed of fantasy and verisimilitude, or building aesthetic atmosphere, or propelling the plot forward, or expressing the spaces which were themed.
