Objective To investigate the effect of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) on pregnant women and fetuses. Methods 62 pregnant women with high-risk HPV infection detected by HC- Ⅱ genotyping assay and 62 non-infected healthy pregnant women were selected as the research object. Compared early and mid pregnancy abortion rate, premature rupture rate, premature birth rate in late pregnancy, fetal growth retardation rate, stillbirth rate, deformity rate, asphyxia rate of two groups. Result The incidences of adverse pregnancy outcomes in early, mid and late pregnancy of infection group were significantly higher than those of control group (22.6% vs. 1.6%, 14.5% vs. 1.6%, 33.9% vs.8.1%)(P 〈 0.05). Conclusion HPV infection is not only transmitted through sex, but also through vertical transmission, impacting pregnant women and fetuses negatively.
