Holding office in Sichuan is a crucial stage for the forn^tion of Wang Tingxiang＇s philosophical thoughts. His theory of Qi ,the key conception of the universe for ancient Chinese ,had been gradually established during this period and demonstrated the spirit of practice, independence and discernment. Interacting with Shu learning, this spirit ran through his poetic creation and political conception.
