Agilawood is a kind of precious material, it owns unique charm as well as primitive simplicity, it was appreciated by lots of elites in many periods in ancient China,and there were many artists took advantage of it to create plenty of delicate artworks. The agilawood Buddhist sculptures own the special artistic style. In the process of the creation of agilawood Buddhist sculptures, in order to manifest the original beauty of agilawood in a better way, the author of this article aimed to make a combination among the features of Buddhism culture, agilawood and woodcarving craft.
