Women's Property Rights in Aristocratic Family in the Early Modern England

家庭虽然是社会构成的最小单元,但是家庭中的夫妻关系尤其是两者财产权利的涨落却能深刻地折射出整个社会的变化。在英格兰近代早期的贵族家庭中,夫妻关系莫不以财产为要,即婚姻关系确立时的财产转移、婚姻存续期间夫妻各自享有的财产权利,以及婚姻变故之后的财产分割,都实实在在地影响着夫妻关系的发展。夫妻财产关系上的这些变化是英格兰近代早期社会变迁的重要反映。

Although the family is the smallest unit of society constitution, conjugal relationship, especially changes in husband-wife property rights, can be a reflection of the profound changes in society as a whole. In early modern aristocratic families in England, the key factor to conjugal relationship is property, including transfer of property in the establishment of marital relation, the shared property rights respectively during marriage and the distribution of property after divorce. All these have an impact on the conjugal relationship and are major reflections of the social changes of the early modern England.
