Moby Dick, as a novel about ocean written by American writer Herman Melville in 19th century, is praised as an encyclopedia of whaling industry. The novel, through the description of the survivor ＂Ishmael＂, narrates the story of Captain Ahab, who leads ＂Pequod＂ a whaling ship, hunting Moby Dick, a white whale and finally they both perishing together. The novel opens up to readers the consummate artistry on narrative content, narrated subject and narrative structure.
