A Discussion of the Concept and Development of “Physical Education” and “Sport”

纵观体育的发展历史,无论是其内涵还是外延,甚至于它的名字都在变化和发展着;体育的内涵和外延随社会生产力的发展和人们需求的变化而丰富和变迁是体育发展的总趋势;统治阶级的利益需求和体育功能的异化可以导致体育发展的阶段性回落;体育有两层含义,即体育运动和体育教育,两者非广义和狭义的包含关系,而是相容关系。

The history of“sports”has seen its connotations and denotations, even its name, changing and develo-ping. And this happens correspondingly to the development of social productivity and the change of people’s de-mands. The interests and needs of the ruling class and the alienation of sports functions may lead to temporary slo-wing down of the development of sports.“Sports”refers to two items：“sports”and“physical education”,the relation-ship between which is not inclusive,but rather a compatible one.
