Application of multimedia technology in the teaching of basic surgery skills for medical students

摘要 目的探讨多媒体视频技术在见/实习学生外科操作技能培训中的应用价值。方法根据教学要求自主制作多媒体教学视频。试验一:选择在北京协和医院外科实习的80名学生作为研究对象,随机分人多媒体教学组(40人)和传统教学组(40人),进行中心静脉置管培训,课后比较2组学生的理论考核成绩,并问卷调查多媒体教学组学生的满意度。试验二:见习学生49人参加外科技能试验课程,其中多媒体教学组26人、传统教学组23人。通过操作考核及电话调查临床带教教师以比较教学效果。组间情况比较采用卡方检验或t检验。结果多媒体教学组理论考试成绩优于传统教学组(P=0.000),操作考核两组间差异无统计学意义(P=0.477)。针对多媒体教学组的问卷调查显示,100%的学生认为多媒体视频教学可帮助外科操作技能的学习。针对临床带教教师的电话调查显示,多媒体教学组学生操作技能临床应用情况优于传统教学组。但两组间差异无统计学意义(P=0.056)。结论针对外科操作技能的多媒体视频教学效果优于传统教学,可使学生较好地掌握各项操作技术,并促其有效应用于临床。 Objective To investigate the applicability of multimedia technology in the training of basic surgical skills for medical students. Methods Original multimedia teaching videos were made in accord with the curriculum. Eighty second-year medical students rotating in the department of surgery in Peking Union Medical College Hospital were included in the first trial. The students were randomized into the multimedia training group and the traditional training group. After the lesson for central catheter placement, the results of the written test were compared between two groups and ques- tionnaires for satisfaction were collected from the multimedia training group. Forty-nine first-year medical students participating in the surgical skill experimental lessons were included in the second study. There were 26 students in the multimedia training group and 23 students in the traditional training group. The training results were compared by skill examinations and by telephone survey of clinical teaching surgeons. Situation between the two groups was compared using the chi-square test or t test.Results The written test scores of the multimedia training group were better than the traditional training group(P=0.000). There was no difference in skill examinations between two groups(P= 0.477). According to the questionnaires, 100% of students considered the multimedia technology helpful in the learning of basic surgical skills. The telephone survey showed that the students in the multimedia training group demonstrated better clinical skills than the other group, although insignifi- cantly(P=0.056). Conclusions Multimedia technology showed advantages over traditional training in the teaching of basic surgical skills, leading to better acquisition in class and more effective application in clinical practice.
