On the Literary Thought after Zhou Yang's Comeback

周扬毕生都在致力于中国社会主义意识形态的建设工作,1983年,复出后的周扬提出社会主义人道主义与异化问题的讨论在社会上掀起了轩然大波,继而上升为批判性的政治运动。在这次风波中,周扬的身心虽然受到了重创,但他的理论和思想却被誉为"生前短暂却又难能可贵的心灵闪光"。然而,究其一生,周扬文艺思想的维度其实是一致的:它显现出中国共产党人创造无产阶级新文艺和新文化并为之付诸实践的巨大热情,正是从这个层面上讲,周扬是一名不折不扣的无产阶级"有机知识分子"。

While Zhou Yang has devoted himself to the construction of the Chinese socialist ideology all his life, his proposition of a discussion on socialist humanism and alienation after his comeback in 1983 caused an up- roar in society and then rose to be a critical political campaign. In the tourmoil, though Zhou Yang suffered much in body and soul, his theory and ideas have been acclaimed as ＂a brief but praiseworthy flash of his soul during his lifetime＂. However, as for his entire life, Zhou＇ s literary thought has been consistent, which is demonstrative of the Chinese communists＇ great zeal for producing the new proletarian literature and art as well as a new culture and put them into practice.
