This paper analyzes planning and designing concepts for wetland roads in North America. In particular specific US federal regulations for planning and design concept for wetland roads are introduced and major road bases in wetlands are included. Specific examples of wetland roads through Ramsar wetlands and local wetlands are provided, indicating how North America followed the principles of Best Management Practices and federal regulations to promote wetland ecosystem sustainability.
