Iterative Calculation Method by Taking Account of Hinge Friction Stiffness for Lateral Expansion Joint

In this article,the classification of lateral expansion joint was introduced.The friction stiffness provided in expansion joint product brochure by foreign manufacturer was compared.The iterative calculation methods,in which friction stiffness is taken into account,for single-rod,multi-rod,hinged and universal hinged expansion joints were analyzed.It was concluded that whether friction is considered in the calculation of expansion joint stiffness will have the influences on the results of stress analysis of piping.
