系统功能语言学中的复杂自适应系统思想探析

The application of the theory of Complex Adaptive System in Systemic Functional Linguistics

本文从复杂自适应系统理论视角出发,重新解读了系统功能语言学的核心思想和重要理论,认为该学派自创立之初就渗透着复杂自适应系统思想,这正是它具有很强的包容性和纳入度的原因。本文认为应该把复杂自适应系统思想纳入系统功能语言学理论,作为一种认识论和方法论,以阐释语义发生的演化机制,进一步夯实其哲学基础,为其与别的学科进行互补与整合研究提供理论基石。同时,基于复杂自适应系统理论的语言观作为新的科学观和方法论也为语言学研究提供了一种新的研究范式,推动语言学研究的复杂性科学转向,使人们更加深刻认识到语言研究的理论目标。

This paper examines the core thoughts and major theories of systemic functional linguistics(SFL) by envisaging language as a complex adaptive system(CAS), holding that SFL has been saturated with the conception of CAS at the outset, which accounts for its theoretical compatibility and interdisciplinarity. It is ar gued that the CAS theory should be incorporated into SFL both as a new epistemology and methodology,so as to address the mechanism of semogenesis, lay a solid philosophical foundation for SFL, and then provide the theoretical basis for the complementation and integration between SFL and other related disciplines.It is also noted that the position of viewing language as a CAS provides a new research paradigm for linguistics, thus promoting a new turn in light of complexity science and enhancing our understanding of the theoretical goal of linguistic research.
