Objective To discuss the relationship between the expressions of sFRP,WIF-1,CD133 and CD44 in esophageal cancer and its clinicopathological features,in order to provide new ideas for the study of esophageal cancer. Methods 40 cases of patients with esophageal cancer who suffered excision from January to August 2013 were selected. All the patients were confirmed with esophageal cancer by postoperative pathology. Expressions of sFRP (Secreted Frizzled Related Protein),WIF-1 (Wnt inhibitory factor-1),CD133 (cluster of differentiation 133) and CD44 (cluster of differentiation 44) were analyzed by RT-PCR,and data anal-ysis were made by SPSS 14.0 statistical software with statistical method χ2 test. Results Positive expression rates of sFRP genes, WIF-1 gene,CD44 gene and CD133 gene in esophageal cancer tissues were 32.50%,42.50%,60.00%,72.50%,respectively,while in adjacent tissues were65.00%,70.00%,37.50%,47.50%,respectively. Expressions of CD44 and CD133 gene were higher in esophageal cancer tissues than those in adjacent tissues(P〈0.05),in contrast, expressions of sFRP genes and WIF-1 gene were low-er in esophageal cancer tissues than those in adjacent tissues (P〈0.05),and the differences were statistically significant.Conclu-sion Expressions of sFRP and WIF-1 in esophageal cancer tissue were lower than those in adjacent tissues, while expressions of CD44 and CD133 in esophageal cancer tissue were higher than those in adjacent tissues. Low expressions of sFRP and WIF-1 genes and high expressions of CD44 and CD133 genes may be associated with the occurrence and development of esophageal can-cer.
