我国第一代建筑师和建筑教育先驱刘福泰

Lau Fook Tai,One of the First Generation of Architects and the Pioneer of Modern Architectural Education of China

刘福泰作为我国第一代建筑师,参与了南京中山陵的设计工作和广州中山纪念堂方案竞赛,并先后在南京和重庆创建了两个建筑设计事务所,完成了大量的建筑设计作品。刘福泰也是我国近代建筑教育的先驱,创办了我国第一所建筑工程系并出任系主任,后任四所学校的系主任及教授,参与起草了统一的建筑教学大纲,是中国近代建筑教育的奠基人之一。

Lau Fook Tai was one of the first generation of architects in China,who participated in the design work of the Sun Yat- sen Mausoleum in Nanjing and tookpart in the competition the Sun Yatsen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou.He set up two architect offices in Nanjing and Chongqing and completed a large number of architectural design works. Lau Fook Tai was also a pioneer of modern architectural education of our country, who established the first architecture department of China and became the first dean of it. Successively, he took charge of the dean and professor of four architecture departments. He participated in the drawing up of the un ified architecture syllabus,so he was one of the founders of our modern architectural education.
