In upgrading and reconstruction of dyeing effluent treatment and reuse of reclaimed water, key problems in membrane separation technology including low membrane processing capability, short service life and regular cleaning are discussed. The causes of the problems are analysed, and the solutions are given. Based on the engineering experience, some common misunderstanding about the membrane, such as difficulty in operation, high investment cost, easy to damage, and the number of mem- brane, is discussed for the reference of end users and engineering designers of wastewater treatment with membrane system.
