International Comparative Study on the Duration of Compulsory Education

摘要 我国义务教育年限与世界中等收入及以上国家的义务教育基准年限一致,但低于其义务教育平均年限0.48年;我国义务教育年限超过发展中人口大国,与中等收入国家和同等收入国家基本持平,但与高收入国家存在一定差距。当前,世界各国实施9年义务教育最为普遍;各国义务教育年限呈逐步延长趋势,延长的方向是学前教育1~2年或高中阶段教育;各国实施义务教育年限的长短,大体由该国的经济发展水平、政府重视程度及文化教育传统所决定。 The duration of compulsory education in China is in accordance with the duration of the benchmark of the world middle and above income countries, but is 0.48 year lower than those of the average year of compulsory education. The duration of compulsory education in China is in excess of the developing population powers, and is fundamentally holding the line with the middle and equal income countries, but there is some disparity with higher income countries. At present, the nine-year compulsory education in the world is the most popular; the duration of compulsory education in the world presents the gradual prolong trend, which focuses on 1~ 2 years of pre-school education or senior high school education; the duration of compulsory education in the world is generally determined by the level of economic development, the degree of government attention, and the cultural tradition.
