民族生态学是研究民族与环境之间相互关系的科学,属于民族学和生态学的交叉学科.民族生态学基本理论包括民族与环境的关系原理,民族种群生态学原理,民族生态系统原理,民族可持续发展理论,民族学相关理论等.民族生态学研究的基本方法包括文献研究法、田野访谈法、调查编目法、定量评估法、原地观测法等.

Ethnoecology is the study of the relationships between ethnic people and environment, belong to the interdiscipline of ethnology and ecology. The basic theory of ehnoecology consist of the principle of relationship between ethnic people and the environment, the population ecology of ethnic people, ethnic people ecosystem, the sustainable development theory of ethnic people, the related theory of ethnology. A basic method in the study of ethnoecology include literature research, interviews and field survey approach, investigation and cataloging method, quantitative evaluation method, in situ observation method.
