Based on the recent roiling debates of China＇s building heating zone, this paper reviews the history of modern heating system and modern building equipment industry of Shanghai. By introducing the rise and decline of radiator heating system in Shanghai, it reveals that architecture and lifestyles are affected by extraneous factors such as institutions, custom, culture and economics.
