As one of the most common mind works of human, Conceptual Blending Theory is widely used to interpret language phenome- non such as metaphor, metonymy, demonstrative pronoun, pragmatic presupposition etc. Based on Conceptual Blending Theory, this article classifies puns in Changsha＇ s restaurants＇ names and further analyzes the meaning construction process from a cognitive perspec- five. The research shows that Conceptual Blending Theory makes a detailed description and interpretation of puns in Changsha＇ s res- taurants＇ names, verifying the great cognitive explanatory power of Conceptual Blending Theory.
