A Study on Weng Tonghe's Painting: Collection, Ideals and Practice

摘要 翁同龢不仅是近代中国著名的政治家,也是一位在书画诗文方面取得卓越成就的文化艺术家。就其绘画领域而言,翁同龢既有以王翚、王原祁为中心的绘画收藏,也形成了"正统"、"尚古"、"深厚"的绘画美学观,并且落实于以"藏"养"作"的绘画实践。在绘画中摆脱世俗烦恼、净化心灵,成为翁同龢陶冶思想情操、提升精神境界的重要途径。 Weng Tonghe was not only a famous politician in Chinese modern history, but also an eminent cultural artist who made great achievements in paintings and poems. In his scope of painting, he focused on the painting collection of Wang Hui and Wang Yuanqi meanwhile developing the painting aesthetics of being orthodox, antique and profound; he carried out this aesthetics by his painting practice of using the collection to cultivate the compos- ing. In his painting practices, Weng could get rid of secular troubles and experience the purification of the mind, which makes it an important way to cultivate ideological sentiment and to promote the spiritual realm.
