语篇类型多样,体裁丰富。一般来说,任何语篇都须有一个论题结构或逻辑结构,并且语义连贯。语篇的连贯主要取决于衔接的运用,衔接是篇章内的句子在语义和表层结构中的连接方式,是构造语篇的重要手段之一。连句成篇的衔接手段多种多样,大体可分为三类:逻辑纽带、语法纽带和词汇纽带,这三类连句手段在语篇中通常是交织使用的。对语篇衔接手段的分析能够有效地帮助英语学习者提高对英语话语和英语语篇的理解能力。

There are various types of texts which are not defined by the size or literary forms. In general, a text has its own logical structure so as to obtain semantic coherence. To achieve this, cohesion mechanisms play a significant role. Cohesion refers to relations of meaning that exist in semantic and surface structure within the text and it con- cerns how the text is constructed as a semantic edifice. Therefore it is a very important means used to compose a text. Cohesive devices are mainly divided into three types： logical connectors, grammatical connectors and lexical connectors, which are intertwined with each other within the text. The analysis on cohesive devices can effectively help English learners better comprehend the text as a semantic unit.
