“行道”与“得君”——宋孝宗时代的朱熹与周必大

On Zhu Xi and Zhou Bida in Southern Song Xiao Emperor Era:“Practicing Taoism”and“Getting the Power of the King”

朱熹与周必大是南宋孝宗时代不同类型政治人物的代表,他们有着共同的政治目标。朱熹在孝宗时代逐渐走上道学领袖的位置。朱熹的"得君"之路并不顺利,他更多地是以"行道"的方式,试图通过道学来匡正君心和整治人心,从而改变时世。而作为一般职业官僚的士大夫周必大则是通过"得君",成为孝宗时代重要的当权人物,深得孝宗的信任和器重,是当时内政外交的参预与重要决策者之一,通过助政孝宗,实现自己"治国平天下"的政治理想和抱负。

Zhu Xi and Zhou Bida were representatives of different types of political figures in the Xiao Emperor era of Southern Song Dynasty, who enjoyed a common political goal. Zhu Xi stepped gradually on the Taoist leader position in the Xiao Emperor era. However, Zhu Xi＇s road to “getting the power of the king” was not smooth. He preferably practiced Taoism, a- ttempting to right the king and unifying people so as to change the world. While as an ordinary official, Zhou Bida became an important power in the Xiao Emperor era by “getting the power of the king” and won the trust and appreciation of Xiao Emperor. He was one of the key deci- sion-makers for domestic and foreign policies and by helping Xiao Emperor, he realized his po- litical ideal and ambition of “ruling a peaceful world”.
