Study on the History of Science Caricature in the Magazines of the Old Shanghai Period

文章站在科学社会和文化史的立场上,探讨了科学漫画史作为科学史研究的意义,主要梳理了老上海时期大众刊物中的科学漫画史料,结合了科学传播史以及视觉文化等相关观点。以探讨20世纪20—30年代在大众刊物中科学文化所呈现的多样性。作者认为,在老上海时期的大众刊物中,科学的形象是具有多样性的,科学漫画史作为科学史的一个支流具有重要的研究意义。

This paper discusses the significance of the research that considers the history of science caricatures as a section of science history at the standpoint of society and cultural history. It sorts out the historical materials in the magazines in the Old Shanghai Period, and combines those rele- vant opinions of the history of science and visual culture together. The essay also aims to probe into the diversity of science and culture, which was demonstrated in the magazines during the 1920s to 1930s. The author believes that the image of science is diverse in the magazines of the Old Shang- hai Period, and the history of science caricature has a fundamental researching significance as a branch of science history.
