王国维的南戏研究述评

The Important Viewpoints of Wang Guowei's Commenting on Yuan Nanxi in Yuan Dynasty

王国维认为中国戏曲产生于宋代,最早的戏曲是南戏;元代杂剧和南戏虽有南北风格的不同,但都有意境,都是自然的文学,在艺术成就上没有区别。可是他经过论证,又认为南戏优于杂剧,南戏《拜月亭记》和《琵琶记》高于关汉卿的戏曲作品。

Wang Guowei held that Xiqu came into being in Song Dynasty,and naxi is the earliest kind of xiqu.He pointed out that the characteristic styles of zaju and nanxi in Yuan Dynasity are different,but their art achievements are the same. After comparing and proving,he pointed out that nanxi is superior to zaju,the naxi drama The Moon Pavillion and The Story of Pipa being both more outstanding than Guan Hanqing＇s plays.
