This paper described the usage and production technology of 1,4-Butanediol, and analysed its market sit- uation including serious overcapacity and intense competition. The outlook of 1,4-Butanediol was unoptimistic. Some countermeasures were listed such as extending industrial chain, improving the additional value of product and reduc-ing consumption and costs.
