Tess of the D＇ Urbervilles is the famous work of Thomas Hardy and some relevant biblical archetypes can be found from it. From the perspective of myth and archetypal criticism, this paper discusses the biblical archetypes of Tess of the D＇ Urbervilles from three aspects which consists of Garden of Eden, plot conflict and narrative mode and reveals the close relationship between Tess of the D＇ Urbervilles and Bible.
